R.I.P. EDDIE COCHRAN
Eddie Cochran was an American singer, musician, and songwriter who was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on October 3rd 1938. His most famous singles include “Summertime Blues”, “Somethin’ Else”, and today’s song choice.
His image (as a rebellious young man) epitomized the stance of the 1950s rocker, which helped him go on to achieve iconic status in the music industry. In 1987, he was officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
On this very day, April 17th 1960, Ray Edward Cochran died in a tragic car accident (at just 21 years of age). In memory of his passing, I’ve chosen an up-tempo rock & roll classic that was ranked as one of the 500 Greatest Songs of All-Time (by Rolling Stone magazine).
